The all-new Mazda 6 will feature the full range of i-ACTIVSENSE technologies. The safety features are categorized into three different support groups – Driving Support, Hazard Recognition Support and Collision Avoidance/Damage Reduction Support.

The Driving Support category equips the Mazda 6 with its Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC).

TheHazard Recognition Support provides the vehicle with Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Rear Vehicle Monitoring (RVM), High Beam Control System (HBC) and Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS).These features help the driver avoid accidents.

The Collision Avoidance/Damage Reduction Support consists of Smart Brake Support (SBS), Smart City Brake Support (SCBS), and Acceleration Control for Automatic Transmission. These features help by automatically applying the brakes in the situation of an accident. The Acceleration Control for Automatic Transmission will curb engine power output and alerts the driver if the accelerator pedal is pressed excessively when there’s an obstacle in front of the car. These new safety features were developed with the aid of millimeter wave radars and cameras. Information has not yet been revealed if all of these technology features will be available on the 2014 Mazda 6 in North America.
